Development of thermomechanical-based finite elements for nonlinear resilient systems

Fire can severely affect buildings, bridges, and other large-scale facilities. The project is focused on the development of nonlinear finite elements capable of capturing large displacements and plasticity owing to thermal attack, and well-suited for the analysis of instability problems at elevated temperatures.
