Advanced soil-steel composite bridges

The research includes three parts. The first part explores the use of soil-steel composite bridges in sloping terrain where it investigates their structural performance and design. The second part studies the structural behaviour and the ultimate capacity of large-span structures. The third part studies the dynamic response of such bridges under the passage of high-speed trains. The project utilizes FEM together with field testing.
