Train–track–bridge Interaction for the dynamic analysis of railway bridges and train running safety

The bridge response from high-speed trains is studied and some of the Eurocode design criteria for dynamic assessment of bridges are evaluated. In the project, the effect of train–bridge dynamic interaction is studied in terms of reduced bridge response, particularly the vertical deck acceleration. Train–bridge interaction analyses are also applied to study the train running safety on non-ballasted bridges. Particular focus is dedicated to the relation between the bridge response and the running safety indices obtained from the wheel–rail forces.
