Castro-Filgueira, U., Alejano, L.R. and Mas Ivars, D. (2020) Particle flow code simulation of intact and fissured granitic rock samples. Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering 12(5): 960-974  (external page).

Highlights

  • Particle flow code calibration of intact and fissured rock samples is carried out.
  • Based on actual response of compressive stress–strain test on granitic rocks.
  • Various modeling strategies were contemplated and analyzed.
  • A very good matching of elastic and peak strength parameters is achieved.

Post-failure mechanisms and trends are replicated, albeit not too accurately.
