Pre-study: Simulation and visualization platform for Automated Vehicles and Mobility Services (SIMnVIS)

The long-term project idea is to build an open simulation platform in which it should be possible to study, analyze and visualize impacts of automated vehicles and mobility services from several different perspectives, e.g. environmental, business, social, land-use and policy and regulations. The simulation platform provides possibilities for testing of new business models, mobility concepts, and policy measurements etc. to a much faster pace and much lower cost than real life trials. Such a model is complex and will include different modules modelling different parts of the system, at micro, meso and macro levels. To create this complex model in an effective way a cooperative approach is needed.

The idea of the pre-study is to identify stakeholders and their requirements, investigate the model scope and system boundaries, set model architecture, identify the most suitable type of model(s), check availability of solving techniques and necessary data, and define model environment.
